Hello Kitty headphones by Victoria Couture

Paul Smith headphones (limited edition of 500)

Philips for Swarovski headphones are a classic (but tend to fall out of your ears)

If you are below the age of 10, look away NOW

Thank God I am not eight anymore. Otherwise I would have had a nervous breakdown after visiting the Wonder Room in Selfridges in London. Since the 16th of March until the 28th, there was an exhibition of different Barbies open to the public but you couldn't actually buy them (muahahah in your face lil brats!). The images above are the collaboration of Chrome Hearts and Barbie. The dolls are 39 inches and are wearing identical to the real-life original pieces by Chrome Hearts. The amount of detailing on the clothes is craaaazy! The hairstyles were designed by Oribe, the celebrity hair stylist. The exhibition will visit Tokyo, Las Vegas, Miami, Los Angeles and New York. The Barbies below are also a sample collection of black dolls wearing Rocawear clothes. The Ken is hot. There was also the Diana Ross Barbie, Ghana Barbie and the very inappropriate (I think), independent businesswoman Barbie.

Best dresses of 2010 Oscars

I was really enjoying looking at who wore what at the 2010 Oscars last night and I've picked out my three favorite dresses of the night. Cameron Diaz in Oscar de la Renta. The dress goes so nice with her pale skin tone and just makes her look like a princess!
Sarah Jessica Parker in Chanel Couture. I've read so many reviews dissing this dress, but I think it's gorgeous. The cut is quite unusual and almost old-fashioned which just adds to it's charm. SJP is NOT Carrie in real life and people should get it through their heads.

Victoria Beckham in DVB. Everything about it is beautiful. The colour, the cut, the detailing. I'm so impressed with Victoria's designs, she truly deserves some credit. This dress emphasizes all her best body features and hides imperfections.
And the award for the ugliest dress on the red carpet goes to..........Mariah Carey. The dress looks cheap and tasteless despite being Valentino. Horrible.

Gaga at the Salon Contemporary

Look what I found while walking home from Starbucks, overdosed on caffeine! It's a larger than life-size sculpture of Lady Gaga at the Salon Contemporary Gallery on Westbourne Grove. The gallery is in my area but I haven't passed it for months which is why i just saw this amazing piece of art today (note to self: get out more). Its by Sarah Gwyer, a British artist who says that her inspiration behind her works based on celebrities is the notion of beauty that we are so obsessed with and desperate to preserve. A modern-day Andy Warhol? Hmm.. She uses mixed media, particularly the stuff that would be considered to be part of women's crafts. Lady Gaga is made out of buttons, badges, beads and God knows what else. I've checked out Gwyer's previous works and they are equally stunning and I think her pieces are a criticism of the contemporary celebrity culture and how celebrities personify beauty. Their beauty is desirable, perfect but...empty on the inside. Anyways, the Salon ContemporaryGallery always has very different and eye-catching (and often jaw-dropping) pieces on display so go and check it out. Gaga forever.
