Break your neck in style - LV rain boots

I'm giving up on sunny weather. It's time to wake up and smell the coffee/face the music.  I live in London where rain is a fact of life that usually comes and hits you on the face when you've just blow-dried your hair/applied eye make-up/wore new shoes.  So in terms of new shoes, I ask myself time and time again, WHY do I even bother to invest money into nice everyday shoes? Today was a classic example.  I wore my pretty leather Kurt Geiger ballerinas, only to have them completely soaked on my way home.  Yesterday, it was raining as well, so I decided to be practical and wore my Burberry wellington boots, only to slip ---> fall ---> bruise both knees ----> rip favourite Miss Sixty jeans that fit PERFECTLY ---> cry over ripped jeans and blue knees ---> cry some more over ruined jeans ---> be in pain the next day so cancelled going out plans.  So my conclusion is this: if I'm going to break my neck anyway while walking in the rain, I might as well do it in style (but next time I'll wear old jeans).  I introduce to you the first ever high-heeled rubber boots by Louis Vuitton.  Yay or nay?

Louis Vuitton store opening

Besides all the other amazing things that are due to happen next week (i.e. SATC 2, final degree submission), 25th of May will be a historic day for Louis Vuitton.  On Wednesday, London will welcome over 300 VIPs including Marc Jacobs himself, for the red carpet opening of La Maison of Louis Vuitton on New Bond Street, which claims to be the most luxurious Louis Vuitton store in the world! It's called La Maison for a reason, the place is almost 2,000 square meters and allegedly cost about 10 million to design. It's a concept store, meaning that it caters for a very specific clientele and combines retail, art, culture and luxury. To this day LV had a Maison in New York, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Paris I've been to the store in Champs Elysees and rumours have it that the London store will be just as amazing! It's designed by the same architect, Peter Marino and will have impressive feautures such as a wall made out of LV trunks and glass and LED stairs, a gallery and a bar. It will have a whole floor dedicated to men's accessories, a library with art books, oringinal artwork by Takashi Murakami as well as an invitation-only area for special clients as well as the usual suspects like bags and travel accessories.  I wish they had opened this store a month earlier becuase I'm designing something very similar and could have gotten some inspiration from it.The even will be hosted by Alexa Chung and will be broadcast live at 6.30 pm English time which you can watch on Facebook or your Iphone.  The store will be open to the public on the 28th of May and I can't wait to visit it!
