Jimmy Choo's first perfume

Following in the footsteps of all luxury brands, Jimmy Choo will be launching its first fragrance that will be available in February 2011.  The campaign features Tamara Mellon herself, who describes the fragrance as "feminine yet empowering, with a lot of sensuality to it".  With notes of pear nectar, Italian orange, tiger orchid and Indonesian patchouli, this liquid fabulousness seems to be too sweet for my taste.  However, as I have mentioned before, I'm the type who gets attracted to the bottle before I even get to smell the perfume and in this case I think the brand philosophy has been seamlessly translated into the packaging with its allusion to exotic animal skin.  Tamara Mellon said that the bottle was inspired my Murano glass and the first thing that came into my mind was work by Rony Plesl available from Vessel Gallery in Notting Hill, London.  Plesl's Uovo Termit vase makes you want to look closer into the vessel to experience its optical illusion and feel its texture. I'm sure more craftsmanship has been put into Plesl's artwork though.  Anyhow, I'm looking forward to smelling the Jimmy Choo perfume, which by the way is very creatively called "Jimmy Choo".

Jimmy Choo scarves and how to wear them

With the winter already upon us (well, in London anyway), come great news that Jimmy Choo has launched a collection of scarves that come in silk and cashmere. There's loads to choose from including the iconic animal prints that are so typical of the brand.  I decided to add a really useful video from YouTube that shows you different ways to wear a scarf this winter.  Enjoy the chills!

First preview of Ugg and Jimmy Choo collaboration!!!

Here it is my darlings, the very first glimpse of Chuggs, Chooggs or Uggchoos or whatever else you want to call them.  Resourcefully posted on twitter by Nicky Hilton, the boots appear to be the typical Ugg shape with the trademark star studs and a bit of fringing at the top.  To be honest I expected more fireworks. Is that really it?  I do hope that there's a bit more variety present in the rest of the collection but we will just have to wait until October to find out. Keeping in mind that the price tag is somewhat between 495 and 695, I would rather go and spend it on a pair of sexy Choo peep-toes or a pair of snuggly Uggs.  No need to mix the two.

Choogs?..Uggchoo?..

So the latest news everyone is talking about is the collaboration between Jimmy Choo and Uggs. I think that's ABSOLUTELY great! As said by Tamara Mellon, Uggs is the only footwear that she owns except Choos..hmmm..The collection will include 5 different styles and colours and prices will start at 400 and something pounds. Jimmy Choo has had a great year 2009 with the H&M collaboration which was a massive success and this is coming from a person who actually queued up in the rain (never ever again). Even though the shoes were pretty, they were incredibly uncomfortable, but then again, maybe it's just my feet. Then there was the Hunter collaboration which was not as widely publicised but was absolutely gorgeous. By the time I found out about them, my size was sold out so now they are happy in the Shoe Neverland for me (sob)...oh well..Can't wait to see what the Chuggs will look like!!!
