Cats and Couture basically
In regards to the question as to why this blog is called CatsAndCouture, I can explain. I love fashion and I love cats. Simples my darlings. Look at the beautiful editorial lifted from The Stylist magazine website, featuring real cats modelling exquisite jewellery. If that's not couture, I don't know what is.

Lady Gaga's Meat Dress
Lady Gaga definitely made an impression while accepting her speech for Video of the Year at last night's VMAs. The poker faced singer wore an outfit that appeared to be made entirely out of juicy steaks, including the dress, high-heeled boots, a headpiece and even a bag. This choice of outfit doesn't exactly come as a surprise after the shocking Vogue Japan cover (check out the featured photo of her as a man on CatsAndCouture Facebook page) Now, my question is: when is too much REALLY TOO MUCH? I don't find this one bit cutting-edge or cool or whatever. It's just aesthetically disgusting and ethically wrong. Why would you prance around in an animal's corpse? It's not like she was going to go home and grill it at home afterwards..Didn't it feel cold and slimy against her skin and make blood drip down her hair? I'm no vegetarian or PETA representative, but this whole fiasco is just not necessary but is just an attempt to get headlines for all the wrong reasons. It was cool when she wore the McQueen Armadillo shoes and a lobster on her head but this is just boring and disgusting. Not loving this AT ALL.

Victoria Beckham Ready-to-Wear Spring 2011
This is the collection that I've been looking forward to for ages and I was not disappointed. The pouting lady of fashion stayed true to her structured dresses that emphasizes a wasp waist (if you're blessed with one, that is) with quite a few flowing shapes. I have to admit that I was a little bit sceptical about some of the colours, the pale palette of nude pinks would look better on olive or dark skinned girls I think. My favorite piece was the draped purple silk dress with a knot on the torso, super chic! Other than that, the collection is very VB. View the whole collection at http://www.style.com/

H&M and Lanvin?
Bloggers, journalists, fashionistas and shopaholics are going crazy!!! Who will H&M collaborate with this year and cause chaos on the streets of London and other towns? Which designer items at high street prices will make people camp outside the stores in tents? Which items will make an appearance on E-bay for ten times its original price? Find out on the 9th of September (add this day to the calendar that I posted yesterday). Rumour has it it's Lanvin..But then again there have been mentions of Bottega Veneta and Vivienne Westwood...Who will it be? Who will it be?? Personally, I loved the previous collaborations especially the Sonia Rykiel one (the quality of the clothes was amazing) and Jimmy Choo (I camped for my bag) so I can't wait for this one!
